AiDuo
- Concert – “Chamber Music space”
Founded in 2011 by the will of two young musicians graduates of the School of Music of Lisbon, came above all by the great friendship and desire to play together.
Aimed at boosting the traditional repertoire for saxophone and piano and above all to participate in the creation, development and dissemination of Portuguese contemporary repertoire, collaborating directly with composers.
Despite its recent formation, the AiDuo group presented at the International Festival Saxophones Palmela 2014 and Spectacle rooms as São Luiz Theatre, Grand Auditorium Arts and Entertainment Center of Figueira da Foz and Auditorium Fernando Lopes Graça, in Almada.
The AiDuo group already has some premieres and dedications composers as Tiago Cabrita, Tomás Borralho, Ida Gotkovsky (France), Daniel Yiau (Singapore).
AiDuo consists of Artur Mendes on saxophone and Iryna Brazhnik in Piano.
Artur Mendes – Saxofone
Born in Figueira da Foz in 1986 and a Masters in Saxophone Performance by the School of Music in Lisbon.
He began his musical studies with António Jesus and, subsequently studied saxophone at the Music Conservatory David Sousa to José António Firme, the Professional School Music Espinho with Francisco Ferreira and School Music of Lisbon with José Massarrão.
In 2008 he was admitted to the Symphonic Band of the National Guard Republican.
He has performed as soloist with the Wind Orchestra of the National Conservatory, with Chamber Orchestra of Cascais and Oeiras and the Symphonic Band of the GNR.
Its participation in contests highlight the awards obtained in II Competition Music “Terras de La Sallette” (2007), “Young Musicians Award” RTP/ Antena2 and” IV Saxophone International Competition “Vitor Santos” (2012).
He introduced himself in Portugal, Spain, Germany, Czech Republic and Taiwan.

Iryna Brazhnik – Piano
He began his piano studies with Tatiana Yakovinich, continuing them in the Music School M. Lysenko (Kiev) with Iryna Lipatova, Tatiana Abaeva and Boris Fedorov.
Completed the Bachelor and Master in School Superior Music Lisbon in the teacher’s class Miguel Henriques.
It was awarded by Caixa Geral de Depósitos and the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon as best student in the academic year of 2010/2011, at the School of Music in Lisbon.
It was awarded the “International Competition A. Zatin” (Ukraine) in “V Contest International Fundão City “in XXVII International Competition” Smetana Piano Competition (Czech Republic), the “IX International Festival of Ukrainian Music and Polish F. Chopin” (Ukraine) and “III International Competition for Young Pianists” (Georgia).
She has performed solo with the Orchestra of Kharkiv Chamber and Symphony Orchestra the School of Music in Lisbon.
It is pianist accompanist in Sintra Conservatory of Music and the School of Music of Lisbon and is regularly invited by several composers to submit works première.
