Born in Caldas das Taipas, he began studying music at the Musical Band of Caldas das Taipas 11 years. In 1995 he joined the Porto Conservatory of Music in saxophone class of Professor Francisco Ferreira. Later, he joined the School of Music and Arts of the Spectacle of Porto, where he completed a degree.

Degree in Saxophone, Postgraduate in Sax Pedagogy and Master in Music Education, specialized in various training courses in Portugal and abroad, with the best teachers, as Daniel Deffayet (Honorary Professor at the Superior Conservatory of Paris), Claude Delangle (CNSMDParis), Jean – Yves Formeaux (Cergy-Pontoise Conservatory), Vincent David (Versailles Conservatory). Pierric Leman, Stephane Laporte, Joel Batteau.

As a soloist he has performed several times with the Wind Orchestra of the Academy Valentine Moreira de Sá, North Orchestra, Military Band of Porto, Gulbenkian Music Conservatory Wind Orchestra Gulbenkian de Braga, Vocational School Wind Orchestra Music Viana do Castelo, with the Portuguese Saxophone Orchestra and Sinfonietta Orchestra of Porto.

It was the first winner saxophonist 1st prize of the “Contest Helena Sá e Costa” contest held by the School of Music and Arts of the Spectacle of Porto. Edited in 2014 the CD “Metamorfoses” with pianist Ingrid Sotolarova.

He has been invited to conduct master classes, participate in international festivals and juries of national and international competitions. In 2012 he was invited to join the 35th International Saxophone Symposium, held in Washington, USA, in 2015 attended the 17th World Saxophone Congress in Strasbourg, where among other presentations, held three world premieres of Portuguese works themselves dedicated.

He is artistic director of the Minho Saxophone Orchestra and the International Saxophone Academy.

Teaches the saxophone discipline in the Arts School of the Calouste Gulbenkian Music Conservatory of Braga and Porto Music Conservatory. Since 2010 is saxofone teacher and Camera Music in the Music Department of the Institute of Arts and Human Sciences of the University of Minho. Has developed over the years as a pedagogue, one saxophone class with pupils awarded in national and international competitions.
